Welcome to studentgovernmentethics.com, an ethical resource library for student government leaders.
Kori Lennon, a member of Santa Clara University’s Class of 2014, developed this site during her time as a Hackworth Fellow with the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics. After spending three years on Santa Clara’s Associated Student Government, Kori wanted to encourage greater reflection and conversation concerning ethics among student government leaders.
Studentgovernmentethics.com provides discussion guides and ethics cases for use in student government meetings, to encourage student leaders to consider ethical concerns and share their perspectives. Sections on mission and vision statements, codes of ethics, and values encourage student leaders to develop documents that more clearly define the ethics of their organization. Student leaders may also submit questions below, or on the “Ask” page. These questions will be shared on the “Answers” blog, where other student leaders can comment with their experiences and share best practices across organizations.
Do you have a question or an issue on your student government? Would you like advice, input, and solutions from other student government leaders? Submit your question here, and we will add it to the discussion forum for comments.
Follow our blog to receive updates about new posts and answer questions from other student government leaders.
